I was born in Waterford and grew up in Dublin. I attended the Froebel College and Trinity College where I completed a Bachelor of Education Degree. On qualifying, I emigrated to Canada because of a fascination with Native Indians. Teaching in remote communities in western Canada presented me with opportunities to paint the Native people and their way of life .The experience was a tremendously exciting adventure.

After this I returned home and taught children from the Travelling Community. During these years, I attended the National College of Art and Design, Dublin as an evening student ,studying sculpture, life-drawing and portraiture. I also studied art at Institute Allende, San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. I returned to Canada and spent many years there painting and raising 4 children with my husband Brian. In 1996 we returned to Ireland and settled in Galway.

I paint varied subject matter, landscape and interiors. Often figures form the focal matter of my compositions. I have a keen interest in portraiture and particularly enjoy painting children. I have exhibited my work countrywide, with three very successful solo shows in Galway in 1998,2002 and 2004.
